How to Get A Guy To Call You His Girlfriend In His Own Time

Posted on Posted in Relationships

As Valentine’s Day has passed and you feel like he’s pinned you in the friend zone; it’s likely many women and teens are wondering how to get a guy to call you his girlfriend after all this time. What does it take? If a couple has been dating for several months up to a year and he still refuses to cough up the phrase girlfriend when introducing you to others, it’s no wonder you’re confused. If his status still says single on Facebook, but you’ve been with him every night for a month, it’s time to make some changes.

A girl can’t help but wonder if he’s still trolling around for other women when he won’t even refer to her as a girlfriend. Why? Perhaps, he’s happy with the way things are currently. He sees no reason to change. After all, the two of you have made no commitment to each other, right? So, how do you get him to feel comfortable in the relationship, embrace it and want to take it to the next level?

First of all, accept him as he is, not requiring great changes in order to be with you. He should be able to keep his friends and you yours as you grow together. Combine the friendships when possible, allowing him to get to know your besties, and you to get to know his life-long cronies. Make sure you have a life outside of him, and that you’re comfortable with yourself and that life. This allows him to breath freely, and to embrace the person you are in reality. Let him see you pimples and all, knowing you don’t have to continue to impress him. Let him see the real you, but still make the effort on “date” nights.

Communication is everything, but don’t start talking about the future on the first dates. Instead, talk with him about your inner thoughts, silly jokes, what you think of the presidential election, not simply echoing his opinions. A guy wants a woman with intelligent, independent thoughts, not a parrot. He can buy that at a pet store.

To get the commitment so many women want, it’s usually simply a waiting game. Get to know each other, become a part of each other’s lives…and if it’s meant to be, it will be.
